The Memphis Innovation Corridor project team is in the process of designing mConnect Bus Rapid Transit stations.

Where feasible, stations will have areas to leave your bicycle if you don’t want to take it along.
Shelter
Roofs and decorative wind screens protect waiting passengers from weather.
Next Bus Arrival
Find out when the next BRT vehicle will arrive by checking the station’s lighted screen. Listen for accessible voice announcements, too!
Security Equipment
Closed-circuit cameras, lighting, and emergency call boxes will contribute to a safe environment for passengers.
LED Lights
Eco-friendly LED lights will keep the station safe and bright at night.
Ticket Vending Machine
Buy your ticket before the BRT vehicle arrives to speed up boarding.
Level Boarding Platform
Raised platforms eliminate the need for ramps, creating a better experience for people who are mobility impaired or use strollers.
WiFi Hot Spot
Stay connected while you wait for the next vehicle to arrive.
Landscaping
Some stations may include landscaping and green infrastructure features to capture stormwater and reduce heat.
Interactive Screen
An interactive information screen will provide information about bus arrival and the local area.
Extended Station
Extended stations are proposed for Downtown where multiple bus routes will utilize the BRT station. At twice the length of a typical station, they will be able to serve more than one BRT vehicle or standard MATA bus at the same time.

Single Bus Stations
Stations with single bus bays will be located along Union Avenue and Poplar Avenue. These stations will be used primarily for mConnect buses and will provide connections to other bus routes in the MATA network.

Transit Center
Riders at larger transit locations – like the William Hudson Transit Center or the University of Memphis – will see a station with several bus bays.
